Our Family Favorite: Take about one half cup of Musselman's Cinnamon Chunky Style Applesauce (or something similar) and heat in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Then mix with a hearty bowl of vanilla pecan granola for a hot apple crisp like taste.
Kids Favorite: If you fill a cereal bowl with the triple chocolate granola and stir in your favorite milk, it will actually give a cocoa look and flavor to a healthier style cereal.
Camping & Hiking: Before you hit the trail be sure to fill a zip lock bag with your favorite flavor of Santee's Granola and then add some extra dried fruit and nuts of your choice along with a small bag of M&M's for a tasty snack along the way.
Cereal Additions: You can eat any of our flavor's as a regular cereal with milk or fruit for any meal or snack throughout your day. And in addition to this you may also top off your favorite hot cereals or even mix with other cold cereals for an extra hearty crunch and flavor as well.
Ice Creams & Yogurts: Many of our granola varieties are sold directly to yogurt and ice cream shop for topping off a favorite flavor. And some customers will actually reverse the order, filling a bowl or cup with their favorite granola and then mixing in a little yogurt to taste.
The Best Idea Yet: Some time ago a customer who had just bought a pound of Santee's Granola asked me this question, "If I open up this bag in my car while driving down the road and start nibbling, what are my chances of getting it home full?'' "Zero," I replied. Why not try it for yourself, it really is the best idea yet.
Over the years we've discussed creating Santee's Granola Bars, and one day we will. In the meantime here's a recipe for making your own mouth watering granola bars using Santee's Granola.
1/4 cup Margarine
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Corn Syrup
1 cup Rice Krispies
3 cups Santee's Cereal
1. Combine the first three ingredients in a medium-size pan.
2. Bring to a full boil and stir constantly for exactly one minute.
3. Remove from heat and add Krispies along with your favorite variety of Santee's Cereal.
4. Stir until well coated and press into 9" x 11" pan.
5. Let cool 15 minutes in fridge, cut and serve.
For variations try the following: Add 3 Tablespoons of peanut butter. Add 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
Alternative Granola Bar Recipe: Try making regular Rice Krispie treats, only replace one half of the Krispies with your favorite variety of Santee's Cereal.
